Back Up Objects

Sponsor: Mcor

A series of objects with great emotional value for their owner that can be “backed up” and then materialised by printing them with a 3D Printer.

Although the copy will never attain the same emotional value as the original, at least it can be a way of preserving the original in case it is lost, broken or stolen.

As objects become digital we will be able to treat them in the same way as word files – print, copy, download or just send them on by email. How this will affect the way we produce, buy, use or share everyday objects?

The project is part of TEN, an independent exhibition of personal responses by ten designers to ideas of sustainability in London.
