Magazine Objects

Sponsor: Mcor

A series of scale models of well-known pieces of furniture made from discarded design magazines using the Matrix 3D printer by Mcor Technologies. The templates can be downloaded from the magazine website so the reader can recycle unwanted copies into their favourite pieces.

The idea can be extended to other magazine themes. If you are a car magazine reader you can turn your old copies into the latest models or if you are into celebrities then you can recycle your old Grazia copies into a Paris Hilton or Victoria Beckham miniature.

The project questions how digital technologies affect production of artifacts and explores sustainable ways of materialising objects.

The project is part of TEN, an independent exhibition of personal responses by ten designers to ideas of sustainability in London.
